The Aylesburian Annual Fund

The Aylesburian Annual Fund needs your

Participation and Support

The Aylesburian Annual Fund allows any member of our Aylesburian community the opportunity to support the School.

We know times continue to be challenging for many families right now. It is tough for AGS too and so thank you to those who have already signed up to support us. The Aylesburian Annual Fund has been created to meet the short term needs of the School and it’s making a huge impact! Be we do need more support.

Donations to our School are essential. They are not used to top up our Department of Education budget – they are used to make us the outstanding School we are by improving outdated facilities and making them fit for purpose in a modern world.

We are a hugely ambitious School, not only for our current students and staff, but also past and future students. This is reflected in our academic achievements but more so in the quality of students who walk out of our doors at the end of their education with us.

Despite all of this, it may surprise you to learn that we are very poorly funded. We receive just £5,415 per year to educate students in Years 7 – 11 (and just £4,000 for a Sixth Form student). You might say our Finance Team are doing a good job in managing our budget prudently, whilst still producing such incredible results, but it is not an easy feat, and it is not sustainable without incremental funding to maintain and improve our School for our future.

Student Support Provision

Our Mission Statement wants students with SEND to have the best possible journey throughout their time at Aylesbury Grammar School and to achieve the best possible outcomes, educational and other. We want them to become confident individuals making a successful transition into adulthood living.

This year our focus turns to our extremely well used Student Support provision. We need to relocate and extend the space to another part of the School, freeing up much needed space in the Sixth Form Centre.

It is an area frequently accessed by students needing a quiet and calm place away from the noisy school environment and it provides a crucial decompression and de-escalation area for some students, as well as supporting students with specific educational needs.

It is an area in urgent need of our attention.

We hope you can see the benefits of this fund and how the projects they facilitate are an integral part of our fantastic heritage. We really hope that you choose to be part of these legacy projects in some way.

We have been nurturing character since 1598 and will continue to do so for many years to come, inspiring and enabling our students to flourish throughout their lives.

Donations to our School are our lifeblood. They enable us meet critical needs and to enrich the learning and teaching at AGS.

We know times continue to be challenging for many families right now.  It is tough for AGS too and so thank you to those who have recently signed up to support us.  The Aylesburian Annual Fund is making a huge impact and so we need your continued participation and support.

Previous Projects

Most recently, projects have included the refurbishment of Art, Design & Technology department, creating a more vibrant and engaging environment to learn in.

Our target was to add £150,000 to £300,000 already raised to complete refurbishment.

AGS Science Centre

We also completed a total Remodelling our Sixth Form Centre. The facility now provides a university- style environment for our senior students with The Common Room and patio area as a social space, a study room for up to 40 students downstairs and a Learning Centre upstairs for 140 students.

AGS Sixth Form Centre

  • Sixth-form students achieve exceptionally high standards. They study a broad range of academic and vocational subjects. Students have high aspirations. They realise these, with many successfully gaining places at their desired universities. Sixth-form
students also play a crucial part in the running of the school as prefects and senior students. There is an extensive volunteering programme. Students mentor younger pupils and help at local schools.

In 2019 we were delighted to have raised enough funds to refurbish the Maths classrooms including an extension of the Maths Staff Room, to benefit the students and AGS staff alike, thanks to the generous support from The Aylesburian Annual Fund.

Refurbished Maths Block

It’s so much better than it was and makes such a difference to our learning. It’s nice to have an inspiring environment to learn in.
